Early Signs of Scizophrenia
Schizophrenia
is a severe mental illness in which reality is perceived by sufferers
strangely. Schizophrenia may include hallucinations, delusions, and severely irrational thinking and
behaviour, which can make it difficult to go about daily activities and be
incapacitating. Schizophrenia patients require ongoing care.
Here
are the warning signs of schizophrenia:
Reduced
or strange facial expressions: A common sign of schizophrenia is a change in
facial expression or affect.
Isolation:
A key feature of schizophrenia is a diminished ability to relate to people,
which starts during the prodromal phase.
Suspiciousness/abnormal
thinking: People with early psychosis frequently start to become suspicious of
the world around them or of other people, even though they are not yet totally
delusional or paranoid.
Detachment:
People who are experiencing the early stages of psychosis may speak of feeling detached.
Additionally, the individual may appear to be focused on something we are unaware of (i.e., hallucinations).
